was born and raised on the Canadian
Prairies where the cold winters provided her with lots
of time to be creative. She started working with her
hands at a very early age and has explored many mediums
including
textile, drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography.
Joanne graduated from Emily Carr Institute Of Art and
Design in 1995, and attended the Kootenay School
of Art in the 1970's.
The
influence of Joanne's travels throughout Europe, North
Africa and the middle east while on route to India
are present in her work today. Now residing in
the Kootenay's Joanne has spent the last year working
on a series of mandala's and starting her own business, DuLuv
Dezigns, to promote her work and possibly the
work of other artists in the future.
